True, I have done consultancy work in the big city, and have hated the tube journey up and loved the evening step from office to pub to mazy walk home, doner kebab dribbling down my suit. That was a nice taster but just reminded me that my main corporate life was spent in Croydon. Suffice to say, I feel I've missed out on something.
I say this because a friend has started working in offices above the Dominion Theatre on Tottenham Court Road. This seems mighty glamorous from where I sit in Shifnal. He said he worked on high and had a great view. His wife rejoindered. “Oh come on, what can you see from your window?”
“Freddie Mercury's elbow” he replied.
