So here's a trio of haiku I wrote many years ago which make up this year's entry. They were written when I was a full-time gambler and I meant to write one for every course I'd visited. I did about 15 out of 35 before giving up.
I like these three. Kelso is an homage to WA Stephenson. Kempton is an homage to Alan Potts who offerred to do the blurb for my book on betting and who reminded me how out of my league I was. Aintree is simply my own experience of coming second almost every year in the Grand National.
I won the placepot
Fourteen pounds and twenty pence
Little fish are sweet

Who gave us a winning tip
We didn't back it.
