I've also been away working this week, plus our novel's nearing publication, so I've only been able to do a cursory inspection of what used to be one of my favourite day's racing.
The Hennessey's always been a good race for me, despite so many shorter-priced horses winning. I was all over Katenko last year and thought he had a great chance in the Gold Cup regardless of ground. So, I won't desert him now. Loch Ba may be in too deep but I like that he's the only course winner on an idiosyncratic track and in good hands off a low weight. Lord Windemere solid, and 15 others with chances!
3ps ew Katenko 14/1+
2pts ew Loch Ba 20/1
2pts win Lord Windermere 10/1
The "best" horse often loses the Fighting Fifth. I was very taken with Melodic Rendezvous last time, and have him priced closer to Corals's 2/1.
6pts win Melodic Rendezvous 11/4+
